Best Friends For Life - $143 Raised to Date
Best Friends for Life is a small group of volunteers in the Lower Mainland who want to help street pets stay warm and fed.
To give you some history, we are a couple of Mom's who have decided that we need to make a difference to the lives of the pets that are living on the streets with their owners. This is not by their choice, but in most of the cases, these pets are extremely loved and well taken care of, they are their family!
We asked ourselves, how can we support these pets and their people? What better way but to provide food and jackets to the pets to start. This will involve very little overhead if we can get the donations required of fabric (ideally polar fleece, velcro & thread) as well as pet food, leashes, collars and harnesses (new or used).

VOKRA - $21 Raised to Date
In 2000 we formed our rescue, with the plan of caring for very young, mainly bottle-feeding, kittens. This age rarely survived if found without a mother cat as there are so few people who know how, or are able to do, the round the clock care and feeding necessary. We soon found that older kittens, under the age they could safely be vaccinated, also would do much better in a foster home. Mother cats both tame and feral joined the list.
Before we knew it we had gone from an average of 150 or so per year, to where we are now…at over 800 a year!
We are not a shelter. We do not have a shelter. Instead we provide over 100 individual foster homes throughout the lower mainland. By organizing this way we are able to protect the very young from colds, distemper, ringworm and other contagious diseases. In a home environment, they are safe & well socialized, with lots of love and attention.
If you are looking for a new friend or two for your home, please take a look through our site and then fill in an application to adopt. We have a great many cats and kittens for adoption at this time of year.
VOKRA is a no kill, non-profit, registered charity.
